CBC just announced the first round of nominations for the first-ever CBC music awards yesterday, and our beloved sam roberts band needs our votes to win!

from now until december 1, you can vote for the SRB once a day in the following categories . .

earworm of the year award for best song – shapeshifters #song

best way to spend three minutes on youtube award – shapeshifters #video

“i left home to buy this” award for album of the year – lo-fantasy #album

best reason to buy a concert ticket award – #liveshow

top of the class award (aka artist of the year) #artist 

on december 2, the long list will become a short list of just the top five nominees in each category. short list voting closes december 8, and the winners will be announced tuesday, december 9. (all the dates you need to know are right here). 

sam talked about winning (and not winning) awards in this recent interview with tony hinds of winnipeg’s the uniter. the SRB plays the burton cummings theatre in winnipeg tonight.
